Tunepool
A downloadable soundtoy for Windows and Linux
Inspired by the little step-sequencer apps that were popular at the start of the mobile era - this is basically the same thing, but here you place the 'notes' manually.
Pick up a sea friend from one of the platforms to your right, and place them on the board. When the 'wave' passes over them they'll make a sound.
Each type of creature makes its own sound - the turtle (kick drum) and the crab (snare drum) can be placed anywhere on the grid and their sound won't change. The snail (glockenspiel) and starfish (synth) are melodic sounds that play higher notes the higher up the grid you place them.
Control with the mouse.
Left mouse button: Pick up friends from the platforms and place them on the grid. Click on an already-placed friend on the grid to remove them.
Escape key - enter/exit the main menu
This will (probably!) receive updates! Things that didn't make it into this jam version include:
- more types of creatures/instruments
- ability to change the tempo
- HATS! Which add effects to the sounds when the creatures wear them
- option to save / load sequences, so if you make something cool-sounding you can get it back later
- ability to switch between chromatic and scale modes
- AR/VR version... or ACTUAL REAL VERSION YOU CAN PLAY AT AN EVENT. (OK this one's a bit pipe-dreamy, but the original idea for this was a physical version where you placed soft toys on a big-ass grid, so...)
There's also known issue with some of the grid squares not working properly around the third row from the top - will try to fix that in a future release.
The audio is generated with the excellent gdsion Godot softsynth library.
